Christopher "Chris" C. Darby

Christopher “Chris” C. Darby, 70, Rockford, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at SwedishAmerican Hospital. He was born November 24, 1953, in Rockford, the son of John and Anna (Sigmann) Darby. Chris worked as an auto mechanic for Louie’s Auto Repair for many years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed doing anything involving mechanics.

Survived by his son, Jessee Darby of Rockford; his granddaughter, Elonnie Darby; his siblings, Jerry (Anne) Darby of Melbourne, Fl., Diane (Steve) Johnson of Belvidere and Charles Darby of Rockford; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and his sister, Linda Brien.

Memorial services will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. Rockford. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
