Christina L. Pomykala, 51, passed away in her home in Loves Park, Illinois on December 9, 2021 after battling numerous illnesses. Born in Chicago, Illinois on February 27, 1970 daughter to Guadalupe and Antonia (Luna) Gamboa. A 1988 graduate of J. Sterling Morton High School, Christina became a proud mother and remained in the Chicagoland area until moving to Belvidere in 2001. Her life was centered on raising her adored kids. She enjoyed experimenting with recipes on cooking and baking found off of the Food Network, online and her own creativity. She also loved her animals, their two cats Snickers and Luna, and could often be found recycling old food to the squirrels, chipmunks, and woodchucks.
She will be survived by those who loved her most, her husband of 23 years, Anthony “Pete”; her children Michael Gamboa, James Gamboa, Violet Pomykala and Robert Pomykala; her father Guadalupe Gamboa; her sister Debbie Gamboa, brother Martin Gamboa, and so many beloved nieces and nephews; fur babies Snickers and Luna, the squirrels, chipmunks, woodchucks and other fur friends Christina loved too. She is predeceased by her mother Antonia Gamboa.
A visitation will take place for Christina on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S.
