Cheryl A. Pearson

September 12, 1951 — August 31, 2014

Cheryl Anne Elizabeth (Harris) Pearson, age 62, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at her home.
Cheryl was born September 12, 1951, in Pontiac, IL, the second daughter of Robert and Valeria Cecilia (Konetski) Harris. She graduated from Guilford High School in 1970 and received an accounting certificate from Rock Valley College. Cheryl married her high school sweetheart Gary L. Pearson on March 6, 1971 at Alpine Lutheran Church in Rockford.
She was the proud owner of her bookkeeping business "Pearson Business Services". Her clients often told Cheryl that she was their "QuickBooks Angel". She also formed a successful business, "Cheryl Anne's Closet" from her hobby of sewing homemade doll clothes. Cheryl enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV. Favorite vacation spots were Walt Disney World, the National Parks out west, Montana and Las Vegas.
Cheryl was a loving and supportive mother to Eric and Lisa. Her greatest achievement was raising her two beautiful and wonderful, self-sufficient children. She loved being a mom, mother-in-law and a grandmother. Her darling granddaughter Stella and handsome grandson Oliver were the absolute light of her life. Cheryl loved spending time with her family and teaching them to live life to the fullest and to be honest and respectful to others. And now, as a family, they are able to do anything in life they put their mind to, and to love one another, no matter what. Cheryl was a loving and caring person who always gave lots of hugs, and made a point of often telling each of them how much she loved them. They could always count on her to be there for them, and she was always the one waving from the front porch as they backed out of the driveway.
She is survived by her loving husband Gary; son Eric (Stephanie) of Rockford and their daughter Stella; daughter Lisa (Benjamin) Fenwick of Brodhead, WI, and their son Oliver; sister, Mary Jo Lynn (Robert) Brooks; brothers, Randy Harris and Kevin Hume; brothers-in-law, George Pearson, James Pearson, and Ronald (Cindy) Pearson; special aunt Irene Latino, who was like a 2nd mother to her; aunt, Eleanor Wolf; and uncle, John Konetski; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cheryl will join these special people in heaven: her mother, Valeria Kowall; grandparents George and Clara Huck and John and Mary Konetski; father and mother-in-law Ann and Irving Pearson; a special uncle Sam Latino, aunt Agnas Lewandowski, and special nephew Justin Harris.
The family would like to thank Dr. Woodman, Dr. Schultz, and the staff at Swedish American Cancer Center and Northern Illinois Hospice for their exceptional service.
A visitation will be held at FITZGERALD FUNERAL HOME, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2014. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice or Swedish American Cancer Center. To express online condolences, please visit: www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
