Charles Yates

Charles Edward Yates, 82, of Rockford died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Generations at Neighbors Nursing Home, Byron. Born January 10, 1935 in Detroit, MI the son of Robert J. and Lillian Nellie (Olson) Yates. Served in the US Air Force for 22 years until his retirement. Charles married the late Delores “Dolly” Dittmar. Worked for the Ford Motor Company in the Micro Electronics division for many years. Survivors include his daughter, Elaine M. (Jesse) McDuell and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his son, Charles L. Yates in 2016 and his brother. Inurnment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly MI will be held at a later date. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Rockford, IL is assisting the family.
