Charles William "Bill" Bokey, Jr., 83, died April 13, 2010 in his home in Lake Summerset, Davis, IL. after a courageous battle with Parkinsons disease. Born Feb. 16, 1927 in Charlston, WV. to Charles W. Bokey, Sr. and Florence I. Biagi. Bill was a Marine Veteran of WWII serving in the battle of Guadalcanal-Okinawa. He was also an active former member of the Loudendale Lions club and retired Union Carbide. Survivors include his wife, Ella Comer Bokey of IL.; sons, Charles W. Barker of Grain Valley, MO., with 2 children and 6 grandchildren; George Barker of Crab Orchard, WV., with 2 children and 2 grandchildren; Robert C. Bokey of Winfield, WV., with 1 daughter, Laura. He is also survived by 2 daughters, Elizabeth L. Humphreys of Elkview, WV., and Pamela (Tom) Tindell of Davis, IL.; sister, Carolyn (Jim) Jarrett of Ormond Beach, FL.; Aunt Kathryn Biagi, Uncle Peter J.P. Biagi, Jr. of Charleston, WV., and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty Garnett and Patricia Guthrie and son-in-law, Mickey Humphreys. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful and dedicated Hospice staff for their care and compassion. Graveside services, with all family, friends and acquaintances, will be held at Comer Cemetery, adjacent to Loudendale Free Will Baptist Church, Loudendale, WV., on Sat. April 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. H. Burton Hall officiating. Parlor at Good Shepherd Mortuary open on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. for relatives only. Good Shepherd Mortuary, So.
