Charles G. Montana

Charles G. Montana, 74, of Rockford, went home to his Lord and Savior, and to the loving arms of his wife, Barbara, and son, Dominic on Tuesday, September 15, 2015; with his loving family at his side. He was born in Rockford on August 21, 1941; to parents Peter and Catherine (Maggio) Montana. Charlie married the love of his life, Barbara in Rockford on February 4, 1967. He owned and operated C&D Montana Trucking for many years. Charlie loved playing cards, going to Casinos with his buddies, and fishing, but mostly he loved being with his grandkids. He was loved dearly, he loved us just as much, and we’ll miss him always.

He is survived by his children, Charles (Cheryl) Doyle and Victoria Montana, and his special niece, Geanna Montana; grandchildren, Christopher, Channing, Corey, Shay, Hunter, Lexi, and Seth; and great granddaughter, Madilyn; siblings, Jimmy (Ruth) Montana, Rose Sandival, and Ann Swanson. Charlie is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Barbara; son, Dominic; siblings, Mary, Millie, Tony, Tommy, Sammy, Buzzy, Johnny, Tom, and baby Anne.

A memorial visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2015; at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108. Burial will private for his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to his family to be determined at a later time.
