Graduated from Rockford High School . Married Mary M. Kelly on May 14, 1945 in Amboy, Il. Served in theUS Navy during WWII. He worked as an engineer for Ingersoll Milling retiring in 1983 after 45 years. Lifetime member of VFW. Member ofSt. Bernadette Catholic Church; in charge of funeral ministry for 12 years and Man of the Year in 2005.

Predeceased by parents, brother Harold Paul and sister Rita.
