Charles "Chuck" Beed

Charles “Chuck” Robert Beed, 72, of Roscoe, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 surrounded by his family at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born on May 7, 1943, the son of Galer and Dorothy Beed. He was a devoted member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Loves Park. He was a member and past president of the Rock River Valley Traffic Club, former fire chief of the Monroe Center Fire Department, and trustee of the Harlem/Roscoe Fire Department. Chuck was an avid golfer, with the rare accomplishment of a hole in one, and an outdoor enthusiast. He was a loving husband, cherished father and grandfather, and loyal friend.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary (Schryer) Beed; his two sons Tim (Jeannie) Beed and Ryan Beed; his grandchildren Lauren, Hunter and Trevor Beed; his two brothers John and Jim Beed; his mother-in-law Dorothy Schryer; his sister-in-law Lee Browne-Beed, his sister-in-law Jo Ann (Todd) Mohr; his niece and nephew Karen and Nick Mohr; and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents, sister, brother, father-in-law, and brother-in-law.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave. Loves Park, IL 61111. Visitation on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Interment Cavalry Catholic Cemetery.
