Chantha Keovilaysone, 74, passed peacefully in the comfort of her home in Rockford, Illinois, May 20th, 2024, surrounded by many of her loved ones.
She was born November 5, 1949, in Laos to parents Dee Syhaket (Father) and Lam Syhaket (Mother). A sister to her 3 brothers and sister - Sue, Onesy, Khampha Syhaket, and Sitha. Married to her husband Bounnong Keovilaysone of 54 going on 55 years on June 25th, 1969. They came to the United States in the Fall of 1979 with their 3 loving children.
She was truly adored by her many grandchildren near and far. Her favorite hobby was gardening, and she especially loved to just get out of the house and go get pampered, shop or take walks at the park down by the riverwalk.
Chantha lived her life with a rare kind of generosity—the kind that's bottomless and expects nothing in return. She was a true example of strength, resilience, and grace.
She is survived by her husband, Bounnong Keovilaysone; sister, Sue Syhaket; brother, Sitha Syhaket and his wife, Manivong; children, Somsak and his wife, Amphan, Khaophon and her husband TK, Phetsamone and his wife Linda; grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Ryan, Kristen and husband Steven, Nathaniel and Evan; great grandchild, Journie; and numerous loving family members and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Father Dee and Mother Lam Syhaket; oldest brother, Onesy Sihaketh; and younger brother, Khampha Sihaketh.
