Cathy Lynn Lofthouse

Cathy Lynn Lofthouse, 66, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017; in her home with her family at her side. She was born in Rockford on April 25, 1951, to parents, Robert and Barbara Lawrence. Cathy married her loving husband, Gary Lofthouse in Rockford on December 5, 1980. Cathy worked for the Rockford Clinic as a Medical Assistant for more than 20 years. She devoted her entire life to putting others first. Cathy will forever be remembered for her selfless nature, and her kind and generous heart. She loved her animals, and most importantly, she loved her family dearly. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Gary in 2006, and her grandson Jaylin Shaw in 2015.

Cathy is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Jeff) Shaw and Rene (Nicolas) Flores; grandchildren, Ciara Thompson, Nicolas Flores, Elena Flores, Martavian Crosspoe, Jayvin Shaw, and Giaonna Shaw; brother, Gary and Linda Lawrence.

Funeral service will be held at 5:30 pm on Friday, May 19, 2017; at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108, with Linda Lawrence officiating.
