Caterina Morreale

Caterina Morreale, 78, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2008 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Caterina was born February 16, 1930 in Aragona, Sicily the daughter of Natale and Rosa (Meli) Galluzzo. Caterina married Giuseppe Morreale in Aragona, Sicily on December 24, 1950. Caterina was a homemaker who loved cooking , people, socializing and was very giving. She loved helping everyone, family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Caterina is survived by her four daughters, Maria (Michele) Galluzzo, Rosa (Giuseppe) Sprio, Antonina (Luigi) Sprio and Carmela Di Sciacca; her grandchildren, Alfonza ""Flo"" (Norbert) Ziemer, Gerlando (Mary) Galluzzo, Giuseppe (Kelly) Galluzzo, Salvatore (Brigit) Galluzzo, Salvatore Sprio, Andrea Sprio, Laura Sprio, Elisa Sprio, Mariella (Enzo ) Terrana, Gianluca Sprio, Daniela Sprio, Roberta Sprio, Michelangelo Di Sciacca, Giuseppe Di Sciacca and Salvatore Di Sciacca; Nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Maria Di Giacomo, Angelina Callea, Assunta (Salvatore) Morreale, Giuseppa (Alfonso) Graceffa, Angelo (Rosa) Galluzzo and many nieces and nephews. Caterina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Giuseppe (October 1996), her sister, Carmela Callea; her brother, Vincenzo Galluzzo; her son-in-law, Angelo Di Sciacca and her three brothers-in-law, Vincenzo Di Giacomo, Biagio Callea and Vincenzo Callea and one great-grandchild. A special thank you to Dr. Pedro DeGuzman, Davita and the staff at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Andrew C. Hougan followed by entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 am until 10:15 am at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford with a prayer service at 10:15 am. Family and friends may
