Cary Betancourt

Cary Betancourt, 85, Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. She was born July 10, 1937, in Havana, Cuba, the daughter of Francisco and Maria Betancourt. Cary worked as an inventory control manager for Zenith Corporation for 29 years until her retirement. She enjoyed painting and sewing but she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survived by her daughter, Nury Gonzalez of DeKalb and her son Dennis (Theresa) Garcell of Loves Park; her grandchildren, Christina Gonzalez, Klynn (Jesus) Garcell-Galvan, Samantha Garcell, Brittany Gonzalez, Myles Garcell and Mycah Garcell; her great-grandchildren, Natallia Burnham, Melody Burnham, Livvi Villa, and Rosella Johnson; her loving brother, Oscar (Francisca “Conchita” ) Betancourt; her niece, Cecilia Betancourt; her former husband, Jose Angel Garcell and her first husband, Orlando Gonzalez. Predeceased by her parents.
