Carroll G. Hoffert, 92, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021.
Carroll was born in Dixon, IL on June 23, 1929, son of Harold and Dorace (Gibson) Hoffert. He then moved to Rockford, IL and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Carroll loved music and played the accordion in a band when he was younger. He married Irma Rossol on June 24, 1967 at Calvary Christian Church. He was a lifetime member of Calvary Christian where he served as a deacon and was part of the weekly Men’s Breakfast group that met every Wednesday. Carroll was employed with Barber-Colman, retiring after 42 dedicated years. He was a treasurer and member of the Craftsman Printing Club. Carroll was also in a Ford Model A Club and proud owner of a Ford Model T. He often enjoyed working on and fixing cars. Most of all, Carroll loved his time spent with family, who came before anything. He will be dearly missed.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Irma Hoffert; children, Christel Hoffert, Michelle (Paul) Cavazos, Vickie (Bill) Randolph and David Hoffert; grandchildren, Chelsea, Alexandria, Joseph, Caleb, Jack, Jacob and Luke; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Layla and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Carroll is predeceased by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. located at Calvary Christian Church, 5455 Charles St. Rockford, 61108. Final resting place will be in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, Rockford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Christian Church.
