Carrie Lynn Aaby, 48, of Rockford, passed away on June 30, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rockford on October 21, 1967, the daughter of Milton and Karen (Robertson) Aaby. Carrie was a lifelong member of Special Olympics, where her passions included basketball , softball, volleyball and softball. She loved her job at Bridgeway. She enjoyed Sunday School at Rockford First. Carrie enjoyed spending time with her "main squeeze" Eugene Mund and attending Gigi's Playhouse together. Carrie was a selfless woman, who never knew a stranger and always brought warmth to a room. She was truly a gift from God, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Carrie was best known for her “BIG BEAR HUGS”, her love of babies and animals and spending time with people she loved.
She is survived by her father, Milton (Diane) Aaby; her siblings, Jodi (Greg) Del Greco, and Mike (Katie) Solon; aunts and uncles, Sharon (Joel) Sjostrom, Helen (Don) Schaefer, Judy Havnen, Maradene Davidson, Jim (Beverly Sullivan) Robertson, Marvin (Sharyn) Aaby, Nancy Robertson-Novak and Roy Kloweit; Brother-In-Law, Brad Easley; nieces and nephews, Kaya Easley, Gabe and Anna Del Greco; beloved friend, Eugene Mund; and numerous cousins and wonderful friends. She is predeceased by mother, Karen; grandparents, Al and Alice Robertson; grandmother Jeanette “Grammie” Burton; grandfather, Arthur Aaby; sister, Melissa Easley; aunts and uncles, Warren Robertson, Maralyn Kloweit, Bill and Sue Robertson, Joan Robertson, John Havnen, and Ralph Davidson.

A memorial service will be held at Riverside Assembly of God, 4242 W. Riverside Blvd on July 12th at 11:30 a.m. Internment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Milestone Inc.
