Carole Catherine Baisch

Carole Catherine (nee Murphy) Baisch Rolling Meadows, Illinois After a brief struggle with cancer, longtime Rockford resident Carole Baisch died peacefully on November 18, 2008. She is remembered not only for her generosity, but for her positive approach to life, no matter the situation. Born on Christmas Day, 1926, in West Allis, Wisconsin, Carole lived in and around Milwaukee until she moved to Rockford in 1954. Carole loved music all her life. As a child, she played the violin; later, she sang in her parish choir and in the Diocesan Chorale. She will be remembered for her dedication as a high school teacher, her many actions as a volunteer, and the kindnesses she extended to those who were in need. Many will recall her performances in theatrical productions, especially her role as Meg Dillon in NATs ""The Hostage"" . Predeceased by her husband, Joe, best known for having founded WREX-TV, also by her brother, Jack and sisters Eileen and Katie. Carole is survived by her daughters: Heidi (George), Lisa, Kristin (Glen), and Karen (Walter her grandchildren: Jeremy (Brenna), Jevon (Heidi), Jennifer (Shannon), and Terry (Lynn and her great-grandchildren: MacKenzie, Courtney, Hailey, Will and Wade. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2008 in the Cathedral of St. Peter with Rev. Kevin Butler and Rev. Msgr. Thomas C. Brady con-celebrating. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with a Rosary to be recited at 5:30 p.m. Visitation also from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the church on Monday. The family wishes to thank the many people who helped make Caroles last months more comfortable. Special gratitude goes to Caroles long term companion and caregiver, Aurelija.
