Carol Mae Warner

December 17, 1943 — July 17, 2014

Carol Mae Warner, 70, went to be with the Lord in the early evening of Thursday, July 17th surrounded by her family and friends.
Carol was born December 17, 1943 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to John and Mabel (Steege) Cummings. In 1962, she graduated from West High School and attended classes at Rock Valley College. She went onto work at Woodward Governor for many years until she married Richard Frank Warner on October 28, 1967 and started a family. They had 6 children Jacqueline, Tracy (Domenic), Jason (Sarah), Jeremy (Angela) and Scott (Ciara) all of Rockford and Courtney (Brad) of Milwaukee. Since their home was open to all family and friends, Carol treated everyone like her own children. (Most notably her 4th son, Kristopher Killion and 5th son, Bolor Oynchimeg both of Rockford). While raising a family, Carol volunteered at the Rockford Diocese Post Conciliar Bookstore, New American Theater, St James Pantry, and St James Bingo, to name a few. She was the assistant manager at the Vineyard Bookstore and retired in 2006. Through her years of selfless volunteerism, Carol was honored as "Rockford Diocese Woman of the Year" in Feb 2009. Carol will be remembered as a lifetime friend to so many because of her loyal and giving personality. She will also be remembered for playing pranks, singing, dancing, hosting parties, and spending time with her 10 grandchildren (Madeleine, Dylan, Haley, Samuel, Jack, Isabelle, Luke, Kaitlyn, Charlotte and Brody).
Aside from her husband, children, grandchildren and Twelve nieces and nephews she is survived by her siblings Patrick (Linda) of California, Richard of Racine, WI, Donna, Lois (Robert) of Rockford and her sister-in-law Constance of Rockford.
Funeral mass will be held at 10am Tuesday, July 22nd in St. James Catholic Church 428 N. 2nd Street. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, July 21st at Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 S. Mulford Road from 5 pm – 8 pm. In lieu of flowers: St. James Catholic School, Rockford.
