Rockford—Carol E. Dittambl, 79 of Rockford died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born February 12, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul and Roberta (Blust) Dittambl. Carol's career in Nursing spanned many years and allowed her to form many friendships. Her career took her to many settings Mayfair College in Chicago, UIC and Rockford Memorial. Her mission was providing the highest quality of care to patients and pushing those she worked with and taught them to strive for the same. She is remembered by many as a mentor, colleague and friend.
Survivors include; Nieces; Ann Petty and Carol Petty; Nephews; John Petty, Michael (Janet) Petty and Steven Petty; Great-Niece Kayleen; Cousins; Jean Klekamp, Dolores Sandburg, Betty Gruber, Nora Hora and several other family members. Her Shelter Island family and other numerous close friends. Predeceased by her parents and sister and brother in law Joan (John) Petty.
Funeral Service 11am Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (Mulford Chapel) 1860 S. Mulford Road with Bill Grimbol officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation from 4 to 7 Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (Mulford Chapel).
