Carl L. Davis

Carl L. Davis, 89, Rockford, died Thursday, February 24, 2011 in Provena St. Anne Center. Born May 12, 1926 in Centerville, Iowa, son of Alva and Mary Ford Davis. Married Hazel Klingenberg in Minnesota on March 29, 1943. Retired in 1983 from W.F. and John Barnes after 41 years of employment. WWII veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the South Pacific Corridor and he was a former member of Belvidere VFW Post 1461. Carl always enjoyed traveling throughout the years. Survivors include his brother, Bobby (Geri) Davis, Clermont, FL; sister, Olive Hardy, Rockford and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife on September 18, 1982; sister, Faye Brandt on April 11, 1999 and his parents. The family would like to also thank Provena St. Anne Center for their loving care. Private services have been held. The family was assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Provena St. Anne Center.
