Carl G. Kampmeier of Rockford, passed away at 8:15am, Thursday, July 15, 2010 in Rockford Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 after anbsp;brave fight withnbsp;cancer.nbsp; He was born July 8, 1925 in Shannon, IL; son of Gilbert and Maude Kampmeier.nbsp; He married Dorothy M. Driscoll at St. Patricks Church on W. State St. on April 20, 1946.nbsp; Carl worked for Amerock 42 years and as a younger man for the railroad.nbsp; Carl also enjoyed farming throughout his life.nbsp; He was a veteran of WWII serving as a Corporal in the Army, member of St. Patricks Church, Knights of Columbus and former partner in Plug and Pellet.

Survivors include: wife Dorothy Kampmeier, children - Carl T. Kampmeier (Melody Pohl), Cici Robinson, Cyndi Wilson, Cathy MacKenzie (Ron Uzelac), Peggy (Bill) Clothier, Patricia Lawrence, Pamela (Wes) Haas, Michael (Maria) Kampmeier, Mark Kampmeier, Mary (Jack) Kaiser, Jaqueline Coppelman; 39 Grandchildren, 47 Great grandchildren, and onenbsp;Great-Great grandchild; sister Iva Aisenbrey.nbsp; Predeceased by his parents, daughter Theresa, son Joseph, two grandsons Craigie and Jason MacKenzie, and two sisters Marie Cornelius and Faye Osmer.nbsp; Carl and Dorothy were also Foster Parents for 52 years.

Funeral Mass Tuesday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School St. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation Monday, July 19, 2010,nbsp;from 4-8pmnbsp;at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave, with a rosary service at 8pm.
