Burton Joseph McArdle, 90

?a beautiful life came to an end...he died as he lived, everyones friend. Burton Joseph McArdle, 90, of Machesney Park, passed away on April 11, 2010. He was born January 12, 1920 in Chicago, IL to Allen J. McArdle and Anna Marie Walsh McArdle. Burt attended Chicago school, graduating from Parker High School in 1938, where he played guard on the basketball team. Burton married Gladys ?Sally Belle Richardson on November 9, 1941 in Chicago. Mac, as he was known, spent his entire working career as an employee of International Harvester at their Chicago headquarters. During World War II he served in Europe as a Master Sergeant in the International Harvester Unit, helping to prepare for the D-Day Invasion. He retired from Harvester as Manager of the payroll department.

Burton is survived by his wife, Sally of Machesney Park; daughters, Renee Anne McArdle, Psy. D. (Rev. Frank S. Moyer) and Cheryl Lynn McArdle (Mark Culhane 5 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, many friends and many cousins in County Armagh, Ireland from where all four of his grandparents immigrated to the United States.

A traditional Irish Wake for family and friends was held April 13, 2010 at the home of his daughter Renee with the assistance of Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Cremation rites were accorded. To express condolences online, please visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com
