Brian L. Wahl

Brian L. Wahl, 60, Rockford, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.nbsp; He was born January 21, 1950, in Rockford, the son of John J. and Margaret (Hickey) Wahl.nbsp; Brian married Theresa Sanches in Rockford, on June 19, 1971.nbsp; He worked for Hamilton-Sundstrand for over 30 years and most recently for the Rockford School District.nbsp; He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, the St. Ambrosia Society, and was an avid Notre Dame fan.nbsp; Brian loved nature and always showed great respect and appreciation for his surroundings.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; He spent many wonderful summers with his family and friends in the northwoods on Spider Lake in Hayward, WI.nbsp; Brian always supported his children and grandchildren in whatever they were doing and enjoyed watching his nephew, T.J. play sports.

Survived by his loving wife, Theresa; daughter, Melissa (Jason) Rager of Winnebago, son, Brian (Jen) Wahl of South Beloit; grandchildren, Lauren Rager,nbsp; Elaina Rager, and Jack Wahl; mother, Margaret Wahl; aunt, Vivian Hickey; brother-in-law, Ron Sanches; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law,nbsp; Bob and Carol Sanches, Dave and Sue Sanches, and Dee and Tom Baker; nieces and nephews, Lisa, Christina, Nicole, Angela, Bob, Jr. (Shelly), Jeff, Nick, and T.J.; numerous cousins; and lifelong friends, Steve ( Linda) Graceffa.nbsp; Predeceased by his father, John; niece, Danielle Sanches and uncle, Fran Hickey.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00am, Thursday, November 11, 2010, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave., Rockford, IL 61103.nbsp; Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 4:00pm until 7:00pm Wednesday, November 10, 2010,nbsp; at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108.
