Brian L. Norgart, 46, of Rockford, left us too soon after a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, March 24, 2016; with his loving family at his side. He was born in Peoria, Illinois on May 31, 1969; to parents Jim and Kathleen (Mahoney) Norgart. Brian grew up in Rockford, and went to Boylan High School, eventually graduating from Guilford High School in 1987. He started guitar lessons in the 4th grade, and was the ultimate Rolling Stones fan. He saw them many times in different states and in June of 2015 saw them for the 50th time. Brian had a passion for sports and was an avid follower of the Chicago Bears, Bulls and Cubs. He was just as passionate about music as he was about sports. He played golf, basketball, and baseball and was always up for a challenge. His wealth of knowledge of sports history and music was nothing short of remarkable! Brian was full of life, possessed a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, have a good time and like his idol, Mick Jagger, he was always ready to take center stage. He always knew how to put a smile on someone's face. He was quick witted and always had a story to tell and made every event a night to remember. His charisma, charm and personality could always light up a room. He cared deeply about his music, friends, and family, and always showed great concern for others. He was great with kids, was a wonderful uncle and even better brother and son.
He is survived by his mother, Kay Norgart; father, Jim (Sandy) Norgart; siblings, Tracy (Bill) Ady, Jaynee (Mike) Norgart Schissel, and Erin (Jeremy) Sherman; nieces, Megan Norgart, McKinnon and Devyn Schissel, and Kaylee Sherman.
Brian is predeceased by his brother, Eric Norgart, paternal grandparents Jayne (Bolin) and James Norgart, and maternal grandparents Helen (Kozemzak) and James Mahoney.
