Bonnie McLeod (nee Bremer) was born to William and May Bremer on May 23, 1940 and passed away at Medina Care Center on Jun 6, 2022. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 50+ years, Thomas McLeod, her daughters Sarah (Brian) and Heather (Adam), her grandchildren Grant, Natalie, Bennett, Rylan, Milo and Nina, her sister-in-law, Joyce Bremer, brother-in-law Steve McLeod (JoAn) and many, many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Bill, Jack and Robert Bremer, her son, Thomas McLeod, brother-in-law Robert McLeod, and sisters-in-law Elizabeth Nolte and Madonna McLeod.
Bonnie was a proud Glenbard West class of 1958 graduate and loved participating with her classmates in the homecoming parade for their 50th high school reunion. She was so touched by those classmates who have reached out to her through cards and notes.
Bonnie was also a graduate of Iowa State University where she made wonderful friends in Kappa Delta Sorority whose reunions always made for fabulous memories. Upon graduation, she took a job teaching at Deerfield High School as a Home Economics teacher where she taught until her daughter Sarah was born.
Bonnie was a long time resident of Northbrook where she and Tom raised their 3 children before retiring to Rockford to be near to their grandchildren. While in Northbrook, she was proud to be active in the Northbrook United Methodist church and enjoyed her activities with the Women's Club and P.E.O. Bonnie was an amazing cook and a wonderful host for all occasions. All those who loved Bonnie knew her kind heart and her love for friends and family. Bonnie's greatest gift was making people feel appreciated and valued. There is no greater life to live than one of gratitude and Bonnie certainly lived that life. To know her was to love her.
Bonnie's family would like to thank the kind people of Medina Care center for their dedicated care of Bonnie.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association. Or honor Bonnie by sharing a smile and a kind thought to all you encounter today.
