Bonita J. Bonnie Drager, 66, Rockford, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012, in her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.nbsp; She was born April 22, 1946, in Rockford , the daughter of Dewey and Nancy (Ciancone) Gray. nbsp;Bonnie graduated from Guilford High School in 1964.nbsp; She married David Drager in Rockford. He passed away in 1992.nbsp; After raising her children, Bonnie worked fulltime at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for 28 years and parttime at the nbsp;Brookside and Woodside Clinics. She was a member of the Womens Auxiliary of the Lombardi Club.nbsp; Bonnie loved her family and enjoyed cooking and entertaining them in her home, especially during the holidays. She had a wonderfully quick sense of humor and was a master of diffusing tense situations with a quick oneline zinger.nbsp; Bonnies greatest gift to all of her family, friends, and coworkers was her generous, caring spirit and her ability to make you laugh. The family would like to thank Dr. Khan and the staff of OSF Cancer Center, the nurses and staff on the 4 th floor of OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, and OSF Hospice for their outstanding care and comfort for Bonnie.
She is survived by sons, Eric (Lori) Drager and Todd (Susette) Drager, both of Rockford; daughter, Jennifer (Tony) Smith of Belvidere; grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Drager and Skylar, Grant, and Gina Smith; parents, Dewey and Nancy Gray; sister, Vickie (Gary) Hilker; brother, Charles Gray; brotherinlaw, Michael Drager; sistersinlaw, Marcia (Mike) Baudino and Debbie Drager; nephews, Matthew McCarter and Matthew Baudino; niece, Margaret Baudino; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.nbsp; Predeceased by husband, David, brotherinlaw, Stephen Drager, and grandparents.
A Celebration of Life for Bonnie will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Reverend William R. Wentink officiating.nbsp; Visitation from 1:00 pm until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.nbsp; Fellowship and refreshments after the service will be at the Lombardi Club, 209 Olive St., Rockford, from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.nbsp; Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com. nbsp;
