Bob R. Boes

Rockford- James Bob Robert Boes, 67, died unexpectedly, Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born September 15, 1943 in East Alton, IL the son of James nbsp;and Rosemary (Coleman) Boes. Married his loving wife, Barbara Leffler, on June 28, 1964 in Jacksonville, IL. Bob was the owner of Boes Excavating for over 30 years and worked for his son, Tr Excavating until his retirement in 2009. He was an avid fisherman, loved camping , a member of nbsp;the Eagles Club and a nbsp;member of Operating Engineers nbsp;Local 150. His true passion was spending time with his grandchildren and family and he always had a piece of gum ready and waiting for any one of his grandchildren, they knew grandpa would never disappoint them.nbsp; Bob was a kind and caring man who will be missed greatly by all.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; children, Tammy (Kelly) Mulder, Lisa (Nathan) Leopold and Tim (Alice) Boes; grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Austin, Cally and Branden Mulder, Sarah, Ben, Kate and Kara Leopold and Maggie and Jack Boes; great grandson, Brayden Austin; brothers, William (Tere) Boes and Randall Boes; sisters, Ruth Ann (Willis) Hamm, Velma Fanning and Mary Jane (Joe) Schram. He was preceded in death by his father, James Boes; his mother, Rosemary Monkman and brother, Bruce Boes.

Funeral service Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Joe Barefield officiating. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation Tuesday, Feb. 1 in the funeral home from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and continues on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
