Billy (Bill) G. Wayman, 78, Rockford resident since 1956, died at 4:20 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 in his home. Born January 3, 1931 in Benton, IL, son of Grover and Ethel (Wiggs) Wayman. Married Esther Tiberend in Benton on December 23, 1950. Veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill had many talents and had been employed as a coal miner, boat factory worker and owned Northern Illinois Wholesaler. He had also owned the D-X Gas Station at Broadway and 20th Street and the Phillips 66 Gas Station at North Main St. and Halsted. Survivors include his wife Esther; son Larry (Corrinn) Wayman and grandchildren, Wesley and A.J. Wayman. Predeceased by his daughter Phyllis and his parents. Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Leslie White, Jennifer Brown and Valerie Grover officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family.
