Beverly J. Evans

Beverly J. Evans, 59, of Rockford Il, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, with her loving family by her side. She is survived by her husband, William; sons, Nathan (Cristina) and Shawn (Krista Johnson) Evans; brother, Jim Reid and sister, Alice (Don) Houck; many nieces and nephews and an expected grandchild.

Bev was born in Dixon on January 10, 1954, the daughter of Robert and Helen Reid. She graduated from Stockton High School Class of 1972 and married William eight years later on Aug. 30, 1980. She was passionate about her 38 year career as a Certified Psychiatric Nurse at Swedish American Hospital. She selflessly dedicated herself to what she loved most: people. Whether you were in her life for many years or had only recently met her, she always made you feel like you were part of her family. She truly cared for many with her warm nature and positive outlook.

Bev loved to laugh, enjoy life, and she always had a smile on her face. She will be missed by all those in her family, not just the ones that lived under the same roof, but for all those that cannot be named in this short space. She loved you all.

Memorial service at 4:00 pm on Monday, May 13, 2013, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Visitation from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Memorial donations may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness at www.NAMI.org.
