Betty S. Steele

Betty S. Steele 73 of Rockford passed away Thursday March 31, 2016 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born May 24, 1942 in Haleyville, AL, the daughter of Leonard and Myrtle Rowell. She married Clarence Richard Pankey and divorced him. She then married Carroll Steele, he predeceased her on October 31, 2014.
Survivors include her children, Jerome Wayne (Mario Puga) Pankey, Debra (Uriel Rodriguez) Palmer, Richard Pankey, Linda “Val” (Gonzalo) Saenz, Scott (Andrea) Pankey and Adam (Liz) Steele. Step children, David (Carol) Steele and Frank (Rhonda) Surratt. 17 grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren. Brother, Wesley Eugene (Sandy) Rowell. Predeceased by her parents. Step daughter, Donna Kay Steele. Brothers, Sam and Walt Rowell. Sister, Martha Rowell (Skaar) Roll.
Memorial service at 5pm Tuesday April 5, 2016 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 S. Mulford Road with Pastor Dean Parker officiating. Memorial visitation from 3pm until 5pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
