Betty J. Ferrell (formerly Wisehart), 87, of Rockford died August 2, 2015 at Presence Cor Mariae. Born March 16, 1928, in Paducah, KY, the younger daughter of Charles and Lillie Dell (Stubblefield) Wisehart. Lived 53 years in Rockford, coming here from Peoria, IL. Married Everett L. Ferrell on May 10, 1947, in Mayfield, Ky. Graduated from Tilghman High School, Paducah, KY and received a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education from Northern Illinois University. Employed by AT&T as an operator and then a supervisor, retiring in 1993. Her memberships included being a Charter member of Phi Sigma Alpha Sorority, lifetime member of AT & T Pioneers, Sinnissippi Quilters Inc., AAUW, American Association of University Women, The Keenage Center in Belvidere and various Women’s Clubs in the area. She was an avid Sudoku fan, enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, and was an avid traveler visiting close to sixty countries. Survivors include sons Charles Everett (Patricia) Ferrell of Rock Hill SC, Michael Steven (Anna) Ferrell of Columbia, MO, and Thomas Kevin (Uma) Ferrell of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren Austin Charles Ferrell, Jason Michael Ferrell, Deepa Vogel and Aruna Saggare; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, parents, and sister, Edna Maye Burton.
Graveside service Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, 6202 Charles St. Visitation Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
