Betty A. Swenson, 94, of Rockford, passed away June 11, 2020. She was born on August 27, 1925, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Glen and Elizabeth (McEntee) Gallagher. Betty attended West High School, and spent her entire career as a bookkeeper working for Rockford Molded Products. Betty was the Treasurer of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Svithoid Club for many years and for their Bingo events. She loved to bowl and also enjoyed tending the beautiful flower beds in her yard.
Survived by her son, Glenn (Peggy) Uppenkamp of Evergreen Co; daughter, Gail (Richard) Quast of Rockford; step-daughter Jackie “Sunny” Swenson of Rockford; grandchildren, Molly Uppenkamp (Kevin Long) of Dedham, MA and Jack Uppenkamp of Evergreen Co; sister, Joan Scibona of Rockford and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her parents; first husband, Harry W. Uppenkamp in 1966; second husband, George M. Swenson in 1992, and brother, Glen Gallagher Jr.
