Bette June Teeman

Bette J. Teeman, 88, of Rockford, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Alden Debes Care Center. Born June 6, 1929, was adopted, along with her brother Kenneth, in 1936 to Oliver and Bertha Lehnus in Pocahontas County, IA. She married her husband, Charles M. Teeman in 1950 and together they had four children. Sadly in 1952 her brother was killed in the Korean War. Bette was a long standing member of Cherry Valley United Methodist Church. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice, especially to Michelle and Jenny. The family also wants to send a special thank you to her caregiver, Jollene Glenn for everything she did for her. Survivors include her children, Mark of Rockford; Kari (Mark) Verhorevoort of Scales Mound, Cynthia (Jack) Komorowski of Sunset Bay, Irving, NY and Tim of Iowa City, IA; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, in 1997.
At Bette’s request services will be private. Fitzgerald Funeral Home is assisting the family.
