Bertha Frances Colmone

Bertha Frances (Abate) Colmone 92 of Rockford passed away Sunday February 28, 2016 in her home. She was born August 20, 1923 in Rockford, the daughter of Cologio and Angelina Abate. She married Sam Colmone on May 23, 1941 in Boston, MA. She was a member of St. Anthony Church, Altar and Rosary and the Moose Club.
Survivors include her children, Fran (Ronald) Lowder, Barbara (Brian) Joiner and Anj (Mike) Dobson. Grandchildren, Ronald A. Lowder, Michelle Pauletto, Chris Hall, Sam Colmone Jr. of AZ, Dan Colmone of AZ, Clifford Colmone of AZ, Victoria Gillette of AZ, Terry Joiner and John Joiner, Leslie Dobson and Aaron Dobson. 27 Great grandchildren. 11 Great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters. Husband “Gramps” Sam. Son, Sam. Grandson, Kevin. Great granddaughter, Felicia. Great grandson, Matthew and Great great grandson, Julian.
Funeral Mass at 11am Thursday March 3, 2016 in St Anthony Church with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 5pm until 7pm Wednesday March 2, 2016 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 S. Mulford Road. Visitation also from 10am until 10:45 Thursday in the church.
