Bernice A. Lawver

Bernice A. Lawver, 84, of Cherry Valley, IL passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021.

She was born on May 25, 1937, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Bernard and Celia (Brodeski) Krowczyk. Bernice is a 1955 graduate of West High School. She married Gene Lawver on April 22, 1990. Bernice was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church since 1990. She was also a member of Mauh-Nah-Tee-See and Sun City Country Club for many years, achieving a hole-in-one at Sun City. She loved to golf and was involved in the Lady’s 18 Hole Group at both courses. Bernice will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Lawver; children, Brian (Dawn) Read, Mark (Beth) Read, Steven Lawver, and David (Valerie) Lawver; 9 grandchildren; siblings, Bernard (Sharon) Krowczyk Jr., Stanley Krowczyk, Joseph (Lynn) Krowczyk and Bernadette (Dave) Celmer. She is predeceased by her parents and sister-in-law, Susan Krowczyk.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave. Loves Park, IL 61111 with visitation from 10:00 am until time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bernice’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
