Benjamin "Ben" A. Pflederer

Benjamin “Ben” A. Pflederer, 79, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024. Born on March 5^th of 1945 to parents Aquilla and Helen (Schmid) Pflederer in the small town of Tremont, Illinois. 

Ben was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Rockford, IL. He worked most of his life as an electrical engineer with many companies, most recently, Comcast. In his early years, he spent his time DJing on the side, even working for WAKY in Louisville, Kentucky, where he would meet the love of his life, Sharon. They married in Louisville on October 4, 1968, and spent an amazing 55 years together. Ben always expressed how he wanted to go back and visit Colorado, one of his favorite places. He will also be greatly missed by his dog, Kobie, whom he loved to take for walks. 

Ben is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, children; Angela Pflederer, Chris (Lindsi) Pflederer, Stephanie (Eric) Pearson, grandchildren; Lennox, Wyatt, Stella, Emmett, mother-in-law; Norma Lennox, and sister-in-law; Sandy Johanson, and several cousins. He is predeceased by his parents. 

A visitation for Ben will be held Saturday, April 27th, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. through 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Nazarene, 3183 Samuelson Road, Rockford, IL, 61109. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Private family burial at Tremont Cemetery the following day.
