Benigno "Benny" Lugo

Benigno “Benny” Lugo, 61, of Rockford, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 29, 2016. He was born on March 18, 1954 in San Juan Del Rio, Mexico; to parents, Cosme Lugo Cruz and Petra Jurado (Tovar) Cruz. He married his beloved wife, Maria Asencion (Rios) Lugo before moving to Rockford in 1984, to raise their family. Benigno was passionate about music, whether he was listening to it or performing. Benigno was a loving husband and father, and special man to all who were blessed to have known him.

Benigno is survived by his wife, Maria A. Lugo; children, Adela (Jaime) Amador, Jorge Lugo, Aracely Mendoza, Ivan Mendoza; grandchildren, Andy, Carlos, Lexie, Emily, and Cassie Amador; great granddaughter, Aliyah Amador. He is predeceased by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 6, 2016; at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue, Rockford, IL, 61103.
