Barry D. Holifield

Barry D. Holifield, 55, of Winnebago passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in his home. Born July 25, 1962, in Lyon, France, the son of Barton D. “Bart” and Mary (Hart) Holifield. Barry married Theresa (Hennen) Roush on February 14, 2007 in Rockford. He worked as a telecommunication analyst for Kerry Ingredients until 2010, when he started his own contracting business, Holifield Homes, LLC. Barry was a powerlifter, competing in Illinois Strongman competitions. He also competed in the Highland Games. Barry enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Most of all, Barry loved spending time with his family, especially his 4 grandsons.
Survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Carrie (Lincoln) Evenson, Matthew Holifield, Ryan Holifield and Abigail Holifield; step-children, Cara Roush, Alissa Roush and Grant Roush; grandsons, Gavin, Jordan, Collin and Adam; father and step-mother, Bart and Jo Ann Holifield; brother, Brad (Dannette) Holifield; step-siblings, Gregg Effler, Rob Effler and Christina (Michael) Smith; numerous nieces and nephews including Chelsea and Caleb and former spouse, Keren Lundquist. Predeceased by his mother, Mary.
