Barbara E. Reiland, 83
ROCKFORD -- Barbara E. Reiland, 83, passed away early Monday, December 1, 2014, in River Bluff Nursing Home. She was born February 15, 1931 in Stockton, Illinois, the daughter of Nicholas J. and Alice Reiland. Upon graduation from Stockton High School in 1948, she entered Rockford's St. Anthony Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1951.
Her nursing career included St. Anthony's Pediatrics, Dr. Sanders' office, Gates Rubber Co. Nurse, and Singer Zone Center in 1991 after twelve years.
Her care for children extended to her many nieces and nephews: Nicky, Hildy, Mary, Linda, and Debbie Reiland; and John, Ann, Nancy, and Stacey Jurasek whom she entertained by popping up as Santa or the Easter Bunny's helper, visits to the Children's Farm, Dairy Fair, or with scary Halloween pranks.
She is survived by her sister Nathalie Jurasek of Rockford. Preceded in death by parents, brothers James (Josephine) Reiland, Nicholas (Hilde) Reiland, Jr., sisters Jean Reiland, of Rockford, Kathleen (Harry) Prenot of Madison, WI, and brother-in-law John Jurasek.

Funeral mass will be at 11:00 A.M Thursday, December 4 at St. Bernadette Church, 2400 Bell Ave., Rockford. Visitation at 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
