Barbara M. Knoll

Barbara Knoll passed away at Presence St. Anne Center on Sunday October 20, 2019. Born April 6, 1942 in Minneapolis, Mn: the daughter of John and Elizabeth Schiel. She married her husband of 60 years, Gary Knoll, in Minneapolis on October 3, 1959.
Barb was a stay at home mom, then a CNA at Brookside Medical Clinic; and later one of the first CNA's at St. Anne. She also was a partner with her husband, at Dog n Suds in Loves Park.
She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, serving as the wedding coordinator for many years. She also assisted with baptisms and was a Eucharistic minister and a sacristan. But her greatest joy was helping take care of grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, children, Stephen (Susan) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Mark (Julie) of Naperville, IL: Kathleen of Chippewa Falls, Wi; and Carol of Rockford. 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Alexandra, Michael, Sarah, Nicholas, and Emily; brother John and sister Carolyn, plus many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary, brother Richard, brother in law Larry Londo, 2 nephews and 1 niece.
Funeral Mass will be at 11AM on Monday, October 28th at Holy Family Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd, Rockford. Christian burial following the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Durand. Visitation from 2 to 4PM, with a rosary to follow on Sunday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL. Additional visitation from 10AM at the church before Mass.
