Barbara L Conroy

Barbara L. Conroy, 81, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, April 7, at Rosewood Care Center.

Barbara was born on June 23, 1936 in Rockford, IL, daughter of Arthur and Cora (Wascher) Nelson. She married her husband, William T. Conroy on February 9, 1956 in Belvidere, IL. Barbara was baptized Catholic and attended St. Rita Catholic Church in Rockford. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and holidays, as they were her favorite time of the year. Barbara will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her son, Dave Conroy of Ft. Collins, CO; daughters, Traci (Tom) Gendron of Ft. Collins, CO and Debra Taylor of Rockford; grandchildren, Tiffany (Paul) McKinney, Jennifer Rose, Bill (Anastashia) Taylor, Patrick Conroy, and Tanner Edwards; great-grandchildren, Michael, Austin, Devon, Zoey, Camron, Nathan, William, Wiley and Wesson. Predeceased by her parents; loving husband, Bill; grandson, Ryan. Special thanks to the caring staff of Rosewood Care Center, Heartland Hospice, as well as special friends, Betty Nelson and Kathy Durstock who visited her often.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory – Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108 with the Reverend William R. Wentink officiating. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
