Barbara Kay Whitlock, 83, of Cherry Valley, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2021, at her home with her family by her side. Barbara was born on August 4, 1937 in Rock Falls, IL the daughter Elmer and Lucielle McNinch. She married the love of her life, James Whitlock on October 26, 1956 in Rock Falls, IL, they shared 65 years of marriage. Barbara retired from Data Craft where she worked as an accountant. She was a member of Cherry Valley United Methodist Church and was part of the Gidians group. Barbara enjoyed knitting, reading, and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and was a second mom to her grandchildren; Iann, Qinn, Evan and her niece, Kathryn (Jeff) Mattus. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children; Jayme Singh of Cherry Valley, Brent (Ellen) Whitlock of Naperville, daughter-in-law, Sharon Whitlock; grandchildren, Iann, Qinn, Evan, Amanda, William, Charity (Jon), Hendrickson, Evangeline, great-grandchild; Ryan James, sister, Karen (Warren) Maseman and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Bradley Whitlock, brother, Merle McNinch, and cousin, Linda Shipman. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Cherry Valley United Methodist Church in Cherry Valley, IL, 112 South Cherry Street Cherry Valley, IL. 61016.
