Barbara Ann Sandage, 69, of Machesney Park, passed away on May 8, 2023. She was born on June 4, 1953, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, the daughter of Kester and Friedel (Landgraf) Pulver. She married her college sweetheart, Terry Sandage on July 3, 1976, in Crowne Point, Indiana. Barb graduated from Southern Illinois University with her Bachelor of Arts in botany. As a kid, Barb raised rabbits and racoons in the 4H. She was an active member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, a CCD teacher, and volunteered with the St. Bridget Food Cupboard. She enjoyed quilting and donating quilts for the Right to Life raffles. She loved the outdoors, gardening, camping, and spending time in nature. She is an animal rights lover and supporter. Barb is best known as being a loving wife, supportive mom, and a generous friend!
She is survived by those who love her most, husband, Terry; son, Christopher Sandage; dog, Snowball; cat, Alura; sister, Linda Pulver; Uncle Walter and Aunt Barb Landgraf; brother-in-law, Robert “B0b” (Loli) Sandage; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Avenue Loves Park 61111. A visitation will take place prior to mass starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any Animal Shelter or Rescues.
