Barbara A. Eckert

Barbara Eckert departed this earthly life on February 22, 2015. She was born February 16, 1928, in Rockford, the daughter of Irving and Romona Mead. She graduated from West High School in 1946. She married Ralph Eckert in May of 1948; he passed in 1985. She worked for State Farm Insurance from 1980 until she retired in 2003. She loved bowling with her best friend and sister Janet Zweep. She also loved flowers and her dogs. She was a wonderful and caring aunt to many nieces and nephews, Mona (Rick) Penticoff, Debbie (Randy) Spillare, Jim (Cheri) Zweep, Bob Zweep, Greg Zweep (deceased); great nieces and nephews, Julie (John) Murgatroyd, Staci Spillare, Seth Spillare, Jason (Kim) Penticoff, Zac Zweep, Dylan Zweep, Jeffrey, Devan, Megan and Andrew Hartlee.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Rockton Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial in Willwood Burial Park.
