Aubrey D. Higgs

Aubrey D. Higgs, 83, of Rockford passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 in his home. Born in Corning, Arkansas on July 6, 1931, the son of Walter and Marjorie (Booth) Higgs. He married Josephine V. Colletti on May 6, 1950. Aubrey retired from Sundstrand in 1992. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons. He also liked to work in his garage and could take on any home repair. Aubrey was also an avid coin collector. The Higgs family would like to give a special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief for their compassionate care.
Survived by his sons, David (Teresa), Michael (Lori) and Paul (Dana); 9 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter and sisters, Shirley and Nina. Predeceased by his wife, Josephine on August 5, 2001 and an infant daughter.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 North Rockton Avenue. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and will continue on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
