Ashley Anne Russell

Ashley Anne Russell, age 31, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024. She was also joined in heaven by her newborn daughter, Otiliana “Tilly” Russell on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. 

Ashley was born in Rockford, IL on March 18, 1993, daughter of Colin Russell and Anne Frisk. She graduated from East High School in 2011. Ashley was devoted to her career in housekeeping with OSF St. Anthony Medical Center where her coworkers treated her just like family. She was an active member of the Epilepsy Association of Illinois, Rockford Chapter, where she helped coordinate major fundraisers and was also involved in the ALS Walk for several years. Ashley also volunteered her time and care for Noah’s Arc Animal Sanctuary and the Rockford Rescue Mission. She had a passion for music and excelled in both her bowling and dart leagues as she even got to throw in a national dart tournament in Las Vegas. Above all else, Ashley’s family and friends were the center of her world. She was loved by so many and will be missed beyond measure. 

Those left to honor Ashley’s memory include her mother, Anne (Jason) Moorman; brother, Adrian Frisk (Stephanie Hall); half-sister, Corrina Hobson; nieces, Lily Coyle and Violet Frisk and great-nephew, Kyro Seif; her nieces and nephew were very special to her, and they will miss her immensely. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Virginia Frisk; paternal grandparents Colin (Mary) Fulrath; aunts, Eileen Boucek, Wendy Frisk (Susan Watts), Wauneta Volanti, Dani Cassaro and Denise Rhodes; uncles, Jeff (Jackie) Frisk, Mark Russell, Don Russel, David Russell, Shannon Russell, Glen Steder and many cousins. Ashley is predeceased by her father, Colin Russell; maternal grandfather, Fred Frisk; uncle, Kurt Boucek and step-grandma, Christine Moorman. 

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, with visitation from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service, at Fitzerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. 

In honor of Ashley and Epilepsy Awareness, the family has asked that all who attend services please wear purple.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ashley’s name to the Epilepsy Association of Illinois.
