Arthur W. Winternheimer

Arthur W. Winternheimer, 68, of Sun City West, AZ. died on January 6, 2008 after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born in Evansville, IN. on September 20, 1939 to Arthur W. and Ruth Winternheimer. He lived most of his life in Rockford, IL. He graduated from St. Thomas High School and served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman at Key West Naval Hospital. He married Carol Reitzler and they have 5 children; Beth (Tom) Stimes, Jeff (Becky) Winternheimer, Lynne (Terry) Boge, Sara Carlson, Andrew (Megan) Winternheimer and 7 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Nancy. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren; sister, Pat (Gerry) Bauman and many nieces and nephews. He worked in purchasing for several years and then joined Nelson/DeCamp Corp. in the fastener business. He retired to Sun City West, AZ. where he spent many happy hours playing golf and making pottery. Other favorite things were fishing, family and friends, and watching the Packers. A memorial service will be held at noon on, Friday, January 18, 2008 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. William R. Wentink officiating. A time of visitation will be begin at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
