Arnold J. Boylan, 95, of Cherry Valley, passed away August 13, 2018 in his home. Born August 22, 1922 in Stone Lake, WI; he was the son of James and Zady (Baker) Boylan.
A member of St. Mary Oratory of Rockford, Arnold retired from International Harvester after more than 30 years of employment.
An avid reader, Arnold enjoyed restoring and tuning pianos, puzzles, reading western novels, sending letters to family members and spending time with family.
Survivors include his niece, Shirley (Dale) Tippett; nephews, Kurtis (Sandy) and Michael (Debbi) McGrath; 9 great nieces and nephews; 13 great, great nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Christine Krueger and Jeff Krueger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Boylan, Maxine Boylan and Marcella McGrath; great niece, Nicole McGrath and great nephew, John McGrath.
Requiem High Mass at St. Mary Oratory, 517 Elm Street, Rockford, Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 3 p.m. Visitation at the Oratory one hour prior to the mass. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Stone Lake, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary Oratory.
