Arlene F. Meini

Arlene F. Meini, 84, of Rockford passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on December 1, 2015. Born November 21, 1931, the daughter of Donald and Marie (Foss) Gatz. She spent her youth in Ogle and Lee counties and graduated from Ashton High School. On October 10, 1953, she married John Meini of Rockford. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Venetian Club Ladies Auxiliary and St. Rita Catholic Church. The Meini Family would like to give a special thank you to her caregiver angels, Jennifer, Nakeal, Verna and Tiffany.
Survivors include her daughters, Diana (Guy) Olson of Rockford, Sandy Meini of Bloomington, Debi (Mike) Williams of Punta Gorda, FL and Jacki Foltz of Loves Park; grandchildren, Angela, Michelle, Brent (Tracy), Nick, Sarah, and Nicole (Johnny); great-grandchildren, Zachory, Chamberlynn, Brayden, Joshua, Kyle, Alex and Christopher; sister, Patricia (Richard) Barnes of California; brother, Donald (Laura) Gatz of Georgia; nieces, Cyndi and Holly; nephew, Rookie. Predeceased by her husband John in 2002.
Funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive with Rev. John Evans officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church on Friday. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Norther Illinois Hospice, American Cancer Society, specifically to pancreatic and lung cancers or the Rockford Rescue Mission.
