Arlene Ann Kilgore, 83 of Garden Ridge, TX, formerly of Rockford Illinois, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017. She was born on July 12 1934 in Rockford, the daughter of Elmer Bisbee and Anita Parker. She married James B. Kilgore in Freeport and the two were happily married for 60 years. She was a member of Beth Eden United Methodist Church and Halstead Road Baptist church for many years and Merrit Island Baptist Church in Florida. Arlene accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior as a child and has loved and served Jesus with all her heart and soul for all of her life. She was a prayer warrior and spent the major portion of her life in prayer for others. She expressed the heart of Christ to those who were hurting. She was always there for anyone, no matter what the circumstances and listened as long as you needed to talk and never gave up hope on anyone. Arlene was one of the greatest saints that ever lived. Please come to this service, whether you knew her or not and hear from those who were personally touched by her love of Christ. You will be motivated and inspired to be the hands and heart of Jesus and will gain a renewed sense of what is most important thing in life. She left 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren to carry on the mission of her life and passion: to love God and serve others with undying and unselfish service.
She is survived by her children, James (Jo Ann) Kilgore of Reno, NV, Brian (Kimberly Clark) Kilgore or Garden Ridge, TX, and daughter in-law, Valerie Kilgore; her grandchildren, Vanessa Kilgore, Carla (Sam) Martin, Ricci Kilgore, James (Emily) Kilgore, Joshua Kilgore, Brian Kilgore, Mike Kilgore, Nathan Kilgore, Debra Kilgore, Danielle Briet, Ryan Clark, and Breonna Thompson; her great grandchildren, Kaisa Carrol, Rick Kilgore, Crystal Kilgore, Tristan Reyes, Indiana Reyes, Trey Kilgore Martin, Ricci Jo Kilgore, Maxine Kilgore, Liam Kilgore, Ava Kilgore, Audry Kilgore, Lyla Kilgore, Olivia Kilgore, Lillie Breit, and Linnea Breit; her siblings, Anita Martin of Florida, Delores Rundberg of Rockford, and Donald Parker Jr. of IL. She is predeceased by her husband, James B. Kilgore, son, Rick Kilgore, her parents Anita Parker, and Elmer Bisbee, step father, Donald Parker, sister, Lena Mae, and daughter in-law, Tae Kilgore; brother in laws Jerry Weiland, Ray Jacobs, and Glenn Rundberg.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Road, Rockford. Led by Rev. James Kilgore. Visitation will be held at 5:30 p.m. until time of service beginning at 6:30 p.m.. Burial Greenwood Cemetery.
