Anthony J. Domino, 79, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016. Born August 30, 1936 the son of Anthony and Lucy (Ingrassia) Domino. Tony married his wife of 58 years, Jean Graham in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on September 13, 1958.
Tony was a graduate of Marmion Military Academy in Aurora, IL in 1954 and St. Ambrose College in Davenport, IA in 1958. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter.
Tony worked in the liquor business his entire life, co-founding Domino Liquors in 1964, having stores in Rockford, Freeport and Dixon. Tony was a founding member of the Alpine Kiwanis Club and a longtime member of the University Club. His favorite past time was fishing at his lake home in Canada with friends and family. He also enjoyed hosting numerous parties and reunions.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; four daughters, Joan (Tim) McDougal of Winnebago, Kateri Domino of Rockford, Lucy (Scott) Jacobs of Chicago and Maryjo (Mike) Seger of Winnebago; four sons, Anthony Domino of Chicago, John (Margo) Domino of Rio, WI, Paul Domino of Freeport and Edward (Wendy) Domino of Freeport; 12 grandchildren. Sister, Mary Jo (John) Pritz of Rockford.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Cathedral of St. Peter with Fr. Stephen St. Jules officiating. Visitation will be Thursday at the Church from 9:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
