Anthony Giovingo

Rockford- Anthony Tony Giovingo, 92 a life long resident of Rockford, died Tues. Dec. 30, 2008 at Swedish American Hospital after a sudden illness. Born June 26, 1916 to Anthony and Anna (Vaccaro). Married the love of his life Katherine Piccione on Jan. 8, 1938. Retired from Rockford Powertrain Inc. in 1978 and enjoyed his hobby as a Flea Market Dealer. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Katherine; son, Anthony (Judy daughter, Anna (John) Owens; grandchildren, Leonard and Richard (Lisa) Zupancic and Anna Oldfield; great grandsons, Nicholas Zupancic and Caleb Oldfield. Preceded in death by parents, sisters, Mary Maggo and Francis Giangrosso and brother, Frank.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St. Rockford, with Franciscan Friars officiating. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation Saturday at the church from 9-9:45a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Masses in his name or to the family.
